Fangting Kuang (Finance)

I graduated from Leeds University in 2006 with my first degree in BA Accounting and Finance. Then I carried on with my Masters degree of MSc Accounting and Finance at the  London School of Economics and graduated in 2007. Through my studies I was amazed by the volume of the capital that insurance and reinsurance companies had in the market and was very keen to find out how the funds are managed. The friendly Aspen representatives at a career fair immediately drew my attention to apply for Aspen. The Aspen Spirit principle of 'treat others the way you want to be treated' is just what I expected. Most excitingly, it's even more than I expected when I joined.

I joined the Financial Control team in May 2008 for an early start. Since then I have been assisting in the posting of non-insurance payments, ensuring accurate coding and posting, and assisting with the timely completion of bank reconciliations. My graduate training has just started but everything was well arranged in advance with an up-to-date schedule. I have been informed of the ACCA courses taking place next summer and I am encouraged to take any training programme that is helpful for my job. The manager and all the team members are being extremely supportive, letting me feel absolutely natural as I settle into this new environment.

I look forward to continuing my graduate training programme and to plenty more opportunities in the future. For me, Aspen is the right choice. I am honoured to be a member of the team.
