Aviation Insurance

The aviation team focuses on providing physical damage insurance to hulls and spares and comprehensive legal liability (including war and associated perils) for airlines, smaller operators of airline equipment, airports and associated business and non-critical component part manufacturers. We also provide hull deductible cover.

Excess Casualty Insurance

Aspen underwrites a broad portfolio of Global Excess Casualty business, focusing on Fortune 1000 companies, commercial contractors and residential contractors in the USA. The team looks for strong risk management from clients and focuses on developing long-term relationships with both clients and intermediaries.

Financial and Political Risk Insurance

Businesses face heightened financial and political risks as they develop their presence in overseas and emerging markets. Aspen has the capacity and specialist expertise to help companies manage and mitigate these risks in areas ranging from project and trade cover to insurance against kidnap, expropriation and politically motivated violence.

Financial Institutions

Aspen underwrites a comprehensive range of specialist Financial Institutions (FI) Insurance for companies around the world. Our principal focus is large to medium-sized regional financial institutions, investment banks and specialized financial institution service companies. We are also a leading insurer for Fortune 500 commercial entity Commercial Crime insurance.

Management and Technology Liability Insurance

Aspen underwrites a wide and varied portfolio of Management and Technology Liability products within the broad arena our Financial, Executive and Professional Lines practice. Working with brokers and clients in London, Europe, North America, South America and Asia Pacific we offer innovative protection and flexible risk  management solutions for directors and officers liability, mergers and acquisitions, and internet and technology liability.

Marine & Energy Insurance

The marine, energy and liability team commenced underwriting in the third quarter of 2004 and are leaders in hull, energy physical damage and liability classes. The vast majority of business is written on a direct facultative basis with underwriters setting the terms and conditions of the risk. Coverage underwritten includes onshore and offshore natural perils, fire, explosion, well blow-out, liability risks associated within the aforementioned, and onshore liability construction (which may have longer contract periods).

Professional Lines

Aspen underwrites Professional Lines insurance through a specialist team based in its offices in London. The business is founded on a close understanding of the client's approach to managing risk and ongoing work with their senior management to minimise the long-term cost of claims. Clients are mainly medium to large firms across the entire spectrum of business and professional services sectors, where the significant investment we make in risk and claims management support is offset by the scale of benefits achieved.

Specialty Reinsurance

Our specialty reinsurance line of business is composed of reinsurance covering interests similar to those underwritten in marine and energy and aviation insurance below, as well as contingency, terrorism, nuclear, personal accident, crop and satellite. Our specialty reinsurance business is generally written on a treaty basis, though some risks are written on a facultative basis.

UK Commercial Property

Our U.K. commercial property insurance focuses on providing insurance coverage with respect to losses to a business' premises, inventory and equipment as a result of weather, fire, theft and other causes. Our client base is predominantly U.K. middle market corporate and public sector clients and property owners.

UK/Eire Commercial Liability

Our U.K. commercial liability insurance line of business focuses on providing employers' liability coverage and public liability coverage for insureds domiciled in both the United Kingdom and Ireland.
